Where is the best location for my Air Fantastic machine (stand-alone)?

Place the unit in a  central location of your home or business.  If possible, try to place it on top of a cabinet or shelf above 6 feet high. (Back)

 

What is an ion ?

An ion is an electrically charged atom or groups of atoms (such as oxygen) formed by losing or adding one or more electrons.   In nature, ions are responsible for naturally cleaning up the environment.  Our machines replicate the safe and natural cleansing process found in nature.

What is Quad Ion ?

Quad-Ion (Quad Ion) is short for Air Fantastic’s Quadruple Ion (four ions) process that uses moisture and oxygen (from the air) and is converted into the four safe and natural ions:

• Hydro peroxide (H₂O₂)

• Super Oxide Ion (O^2-)

• Hydroxyl Radical (HO^H)

• Ozonide Ion (O^3- )

 NOTE: Ozonide Ion is not same as ozone ion.  The ozone measure at 2 to 3 feet from unit is rated at zero or negligible. (Back)

 

Is Quad Ion an Ozone Generator process?

No.  Ozone generator produces high levels of ozone and are generally unhealthy and a lung irritant.  The ozone level at 2 to 3 feet from the Air Fantastic machines have been measured to be at zero or negligible. (Back)

 

What exactly happens when things are oxidized?

There are many different forms of oxidation.  Fire and cooking is a from of oxidation.  When raw meat is cooked, the germs and bacteria are oxidized and become harmless.  Rust is another form of oxidation for metal.  In our process,  the ions naturally break down contaminants to turns them into harmless carbon matter. Where are the filters and when do they need to be changed?

Quad Ion is a filter-less process that uses ions to clean and sanitize the air.  There are no expensive filters that need to be changed. (Back)

 

What maintenance is required for the Air Fantastic machine?

The Quad Ion lamp needs to be replaced every 3 years.  For heavy smokers, lamp change “might” be  necessary every 12 to 18 months.  If one has a dusting attachment for a vacuum cleaner, be sure to dust the outside of the machine at least once a month if needed. What is the difference between the High and Low setting?

How do the Quad Ions reduce dust, pollen and particulate from the air?

Particles stay suspended in the air due to positive static energy.  The ions created by the Air Fantastic machine are negative ions and neutralize airborne particles.  These particles fall harmless to the ground and clears the air.  We recommend vacuuming once a week with a quality vacuum cleaner that keeps the dust within the vacuum cleaner.  NOTE: It takes 72 hours of continuous use to reduce particles by up to 99%. How do the Quad Ion reduce airborne mold & fungus?

Airborne microbial (Airborne mold, fungus, & bacteria) exist naturally in the air and is usually reported daily on local news programs.    It exist mainly due to the humidity in the air.   The four ions produced by our machines safely oxidize (breaks down) airborne microbial.  NOTE: It takes 72 hours of continuous use to reduce airborne microbial by up to 99%. How are odors removed by the ions?

How long does it take to remove odors?

New odors from cooking, painting, or other source will usually disappear within 1 to 48 hours.  However, long term odors that have existed for years might take days or weeks to be removed. 

 

It is important to have the correct size machine for the right size home and application.  The 300 (AFmini), 1000 (AF1000), 3000 (AF3000), and 4000 sq. ft. (AF4000) rating is based on a home without any heavy contamination such as cigarette smokers, multiple pets, or drastic source of odors.   In the cases of high contamination load, we recommend buying the more powerful unit based on your living area or use the more powerful HVAC installed units CAP3000, CAP5000, or the CAP7000. Can QuadIon help allergy, asthma, and other respiratory sufferers?

Our process creates one of the most cleanest environment found indoors.  QuadIon will generally help persons with allergy, asthma, and respiratory problems.  In many cases the difference is quite drastic. (Back)

 

Why do I sometimes wake up with allergy symptoms in the morning?

In some cases, when one has been inside the clean environment created by our machines, one does not get allergy symptom even when one is outside for 3 to 6 hours.   However, during the hours spent outside, your body is still absorbing the allergen and will eventually produces histamine.   There is sometimes a delayed reaction of up to 12 hours after being initially exposed to allergens from the day before. What is the warranty on the Air Fantastic Machines?

How does Air Fantastic compare to the Ionic Breeze and Oreck?

The Ionic Breeze and Oreck machine capture particles by charging the air and collecting  it on negatively charged plates.  Typically, this only cleans an area of approximately 500 sq. ft.  As time goes on, the unit becomes less and less effective since the plates are covered with more dirt. This technology generally is not effective in reducing airborne microbial (mold, fungus, &  bacteria) in significant quantity and can not reduce surface bacteria.   Both machines are rated to not effective in reducing odors.

 

The Air Fantastic machines produces negative ions that neutralized airborne particles and

precipitate out of the air (rain down) and fall to the ground.  In addition,  the natural ions also sanitizes the air from airborne microbial, reduce surface bacteria, and odors.  Our larger machines (AF4000) can covers area up to 4,000 sq. ft. (Back)

 

How does Air Fantastic compare to HEPA filters ?

HEPA filters are basically paper filters that were developed during World War II for the Manhattan Project to capture radioactive dust.  Unfortunately in a residential home environment HEPA filters require lots of energy to work and tend to be very noisy.  There are expensive filters that must be replace usually once a month and only cover areas typically up to 500 sq. ft.  HEPA filters generally are not effective in reducing airborne microbial (mold, fungus, &  bacteria) and can not reduce surface bacteria.  HEPA are usually not effective in reducing odors.

 

The Air Fantastic Machines use very little energy (~39 Watts) and has been university tested to reduce up to 99.9% of particulates, allergen, and dust from the air.   Since the ions can travel throughout the whole house, our home models can cover up to 3,000 to 4,000 sq. ft. (Back)

 

How does Air Fantastic compare to UV only lamps installed in HVAC system?

UV only lamps only kill germs within 12 inches of the lamp with continuous exposure.   It is not effective in sanitizing the air since the air moves too quickly over the UV lamp in order to get sanitized.

 

The Quad Ion lamps use a high quality UV lamp along with the hydrophilic targets (the white rings) to produce safe but powerful ions from air and moisture.   The ion that are produced by the QuadIon travel throughout the entire home    The ions do the work of sanitizing the home and not the UV lamp.

How much energy does it use?

All of the Air Fantastic stand-alone and Central Air Purifier (HVAC) unit use less than 40 watts about the same energy as a very dim light bulb. (Back)

Do the ions have an odor?

When the machine is running in a central area located above 6 feet high, one will not smell any odor.  If one is close to the unit there is a faint clean odor emitting from the machine. (Back)

 

Do I need to move the stand alone unit from room to room?

No.  The ions over time will cover the entire home as long as you have the correct size unit for your size home and contamination load.   For example, the AF3000 is for a non-smoking home up to 3,000 sq. ft or for a smoking home up to 1,500 ~ 2,000 sq. ft. (Back)

 

Do I leave the Air Fantastic unit on all the time?

It takes about 3 to 5 days for the Quad Ion to reduce particulates and start sanitizing the home.   Since residential contamination never take a break from polluting your home, it is very important to keep the machine running 24 hours a day. (Back)

 

Do you recommend a routine to keep the home clean?

We recommend the following routine to help keep a clean home:

· Run Air Fantastic machine 24 hours a day to reduce particulate and airborne microbial.

· Once a week,  if the outdoor air quality is decent, be sure to air out your home once a week to get fresh air.  If the outdoor air quality is poor due to pollution or high allergy levels, you might want to skip this step.

· Once a week, take wash cloth with a natural germicide (such as Shaklee’s Basic-G) and wipe down all areas that get touched frequently such as all door knobs, countertops, tabletops, TV remotes, bathroom sink, shower area, and toilet area.

· Once a week, take a duster and dust any area that has an accumulation of dust. 

· Vacuum at least once a week with a quality vacuum cleaner that has at least a HEPA filter or better to keep dirt within the vacuum machine.  Cheap vacuum cleaners basically just stir up dust within the home. (Back)

 

How do I dispose the Quad Ion lamp?
