Formaldehyde

● Formaldehyde is a chemical compound with a formula of H₂CO.

rmaldehyde exist during the combustion of methane and other compounds such as

   automobile exhaust, tobacco smoke, and forest fires.

● Formaldehyde exposure can cause burning eyes and nose, coughing, difficulty breathing,

   headaches, and has been shown to be carcinogenic, causing nasal and nasopharyngeal

● Formaldehyde-catalyzed resin are used in the manufacture of engineering wood products such

● The Center of Diseased Control and Prevention performed indoor quality test on the FEMA

   trailers for formaldehyde and found potentially hazardous levels of formaldehyde

   in many of the travel trailers. ^[2][3][4]

● Long-term exposure to high levels can be linked to an increased risk of cancer and, at levels

   above this range, there can also be a risk of respiratory illness.

Solution:

Air Fantastic Ammonia Experiment

 1.  Soak a piece of folded paper towel (1" X 2") with ammonia and make twice.

 2.  Place one of the ammonia soaked piece on top of any Air Fantastic

      Machine.

 3.  Place the other ammonia soaked piece on the other side of the room.

 4.  Wait 30 to 35 minutes and smell the ammonia soak piece on top of the

       machine.  There should be absolutely no ammonia smell what so ever.  It

       has been totally broken down by the four ions.

 5.  Carefully take a smell of the other ammonia soaked piece from the other

      side of the room.  Notice that the ammonia odor is still at  full strength.

NOTE: Ammonia is a VOCs and is not formaldehyde.  However, it's chemical

               compound is NH₃ and is also difficult to break down similar to

               formaldehyde.
